Handcraft Millwork's Albums > Handcraft Millwork Products > Moldings & Moldings with Returns
Moldings are a very basic universal design material. Besides just the basic molding applied to walls, when returns are added on each end they form a basis for a wide range of products. Mantels, window headers, door headers, shelves/credenzas, niches, bookcases, entertainment centers, brackets/corbels, signs and store fixtures are just some of the possibilities for both interiors and exteriors. See examples of applications in this section.

There are hundreds of moldings available. Please refer to the Spectis catalog on their Website (www.spectis.com) for additional profile choices. Handcraft Millwork can produce any custom product from the moldings shown in the Spectis catalog.

There is no practical size limit for any of the products mentioned, but if lengths in excess of approx. 11'-0" are required, a joint/s would be needed.

The great number of molding designs available provide an unlimited number of design possibilities. The moldings are made with polyurethane which can be used for both interiors and exteriors.

The length dimensions on the returned end moldings are left open to be specified by the customer. Lengths in excess of 11'-0" will require joining of two or more pieces at the job site.

IMPORTANT DESIGN NOTE. Most of the molding profiles can be produced in flexible form for interior use and some profiles can made for exterior use. Please inquire for details.

Please refer to the online Spectis catalog (www.spectis.com) for notes on Custom Finishing, Fire Rating, Environmental Comments and Flexible Molding for interior and exterior use.
